MARY ARANAS

Mary grew up in Taipei, bouncing along behind her big brother and his friends, seeking to do what they could; fast forward to teenage and jazz shoes in Ottawa; college and dojos in Toronto; acting and cycling in New York. Not until new motherhood grounded her did yoga become the obvious choice for both spiritual sanctuary and physical focus all in one. So Mary’s yoga practice dates to her becoming a mommy in 1995. Both her baby and her yoga practice are now beautiful happy teenagers!

After her own mom passed away in 2001, Mary took yoga teacher training with ISHTA Yogiraj Alan Finger. Since 2002 Mary has taught yoga joyously, gratefully, full-time, in New York and around about, to private clients and in classes, workshops, and retreats. In 2008 Mary earned her first AcroYoga certification from Jason Nemer and Jenny Sauer-Klein, and in 2009, her first Thai massage certification with Jenn Yarro. Mary leads mentorships, and Restorative teacher trainings, and she just loves to be a student too! Her yoga encompasses relationship, dharma, motherhood, and writing her regular newsletters. Her teaching ranges from meditation to chakra slow flow, to vinyasa to AcroYoga, both dynamic and therapeutic. Prana is chi is ruach is pneuma. May the prana be with you ~ constantly flowing ~ on and off the mat ~ surfboard ~ bike ~ slackline ~ kirtan ~ !! Om shanti!!
